A Fool in Pain

“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.” – Charles H. Spurgeon

As I confessed in the message, I am simply not yet to where Spurgeon was when he stated this. Rather than share with you a bunch of words which may or may not be helpful, I thought I would share some links to songs and messages that have been of helpful to me in these days of pain and sadness. I hope that you might find something helpful if you need it. I also hope in the brevity of my words to avoid being a fool in pain whose words multiply or add to pain and suffering that you are or have experienced.

3 Songs:

Rich Mullins has long been so helpful to me- and these two songs for sure:

Matt Chandler sermon I “long quoted” in the message: audio/video and transcript is available: https://www.tvcresources.net/resource-library/sermons/the-how-matters

John Piper sermon I quoted in the message: audio/video and transcript is available: https://www.desiringgod.org/messages/do-not-lose-heart

And a final thought: “The mercy of God would be to wound you in such a way that your heart was bound to Him…” – Matt Chandler
